A kitchen island counter is easy to design and install and can add value and usefulness to a kitchen. A kitchen island top may be needed by a homeowner because a kitchen doesn't provide enough counter, cabinet or eating space. Even a small island countertop can make a kitchen feel easier to move around in and prepare food in. A kitchen island top can also be equipped with different accessories, making it even more helpful to store kitchen utensils and appliances.
A second kitchen sink can be included on the kitchen island. Use a sink that is deep enough for washing large pots and pans, and consider equipping the kitchen island with a trash compactor, garbage disposal, recycle bin and even a dishwasher. Cleanup will be much easier when these appliances are close by the sink.
Transformation: Kitchen refacing is such an amazing transformation in a very short time period. Your kitchen will look and feel brand new, no one will be able to tell it was refaced. After all, the doors, handles, molding and countertops are all brand new and the existing cabinet boxes have all been covered to match your doors and drawer fronts. Longevity: Refaced cabinets will last as long as new cabinets and easily hold up to 20 years of normal wear and tear. Any repairs that are needed to your refaced cabinets are usually minor and very simple to repair. In most cases, refacers offer a 5 year warranty.
Transitional Kitchen. The transitional cabinets are the combination of contemporary and traditional designs. They are designed by using the mixture of man made and natural materials. Rustic Kitchen. The rustic cabinets are manufactured by using wood like hickory, knotty pine or alder that is heavily grained. There is a flat panel door system available in these cabinets. Some of the common color stains available in the rustic cabinets are yellow, red and green.
Express yourself with color. Because the backsplash is a relatively small area, it's your chance to play with color. It's always safe to choose warm, soft colors. However, you can be much more daring! This is your chance to add an exciting punch of color. Play with pattern. Patterns add interest - especially if you are on a tight budget. One easy way to save money is to select standard tiles in complementary or contrasting colors and then arrange them to create an interesting pattern. For instance, an unusual checkered pattern can make your kitchen feel like a quaint little bistro rather than a boring rental apartment.
